Why we still love Albert Einstein

There is a continued admiration for one of the great minds in the last century, Albert Einstein. I wonder in a time with the advent of moving skyscrapers, the discovery of new galaxies, and even the launch of the supercool 3G iphone, why our fascination remains with someone whose discoveries and, well, whose self dates back over 50 years? My theory is that we love the underdog!! I mean I'm a die hard Steelers fan and by the end of the Superbowl, I was rooting for the Cardinals just because they were the underdogs.
